I can't say that I noticed any additional vibration, but I installed my SuperTrapp not long after I had the bike, so I wasn't tuned in to the bike enought to have noticed.
About the bluing. There's not much that can be done. You can slow down the bluing with the various cleaners, but all the ones I tried scratched the heck out of the chrome. So I think it's six of one and a half a dozen of the other.
